Encamping amidst estates

Boots accelerated his Domminor 400cc from Chennai and reached Kodanad, a beautiful hamlet near the Nilgiris mountains. I was the pillion and the en-route was Vellore-Salem-Mettupalayam-Kodanad. The ride consumed 10 hours to flip from a hustling city to tranquil mountains.

We chose a campsite named discover Alpas and booked it earlier. Being an ideal place to experience the state of solitude in us, Alpas is wrapped by the aurora over the skyline and raw, enthralling campground. The lemongrass tea, which was stored in an old-fashioned flask was nectarous. I turned into a bee looking for the flower-like flask!

The climate was clear in the presence of the sun and turned crisp in its absence. No lip-balm or moisturizer worked. Though there were board games in the dining space(another small tent that can accommodate 7-8 people at a time), We preferred the stunning view with a cup of lemongrass tea.

The camping ground was surrounded by tea estates and one could hear the sounds of wild deer and bisons loitering around at night. Don’t worry, the campground is protected with proper fences!
