Arabian sea through the lens of Varkala

The oceanic waves created an attractive force and I was mesmerized by the calm landscape visible from the rigaht corner of my stay’s rooftop. The sea was a few meters away from me and I felt that if I own spiderman’s power, I would have pointed the web to the most inclined coconut tree that deliberately kisses the waves every time. Boots was excited too!

View from my stay

We felt as if we were wrapped in the azure sky and sea. Being a brilliant combination of cliffs, rocks, sea, and coconut trees, Varkala has done its best in shaping itself, like humans who shine when they shape themselves with beautiful ideologies and habits. While nature has given its best, I felt over-tourism has resulted in plastics in all sea creature’s stomachs!

Kapil Beach

I came across this beach in the flooding Instagram posts as a must-visit place. Likewise, it was a very beautiful place with the sea on the one side and backwaters on the other side. However, the food covers, plates, and bottles on the shore disappointed me.

Varkala beach

Being the main beach, it was the space for some pooja too. The lifeguards were having greater vigilance over people to ensure their safety. There were few snack shops around.

North Cliff

Sunset, Varkala

It is the perfect spot for experiencing the sheen over the sea during sunset, also one can experience the nightlife of Varkala here which includes dance, music, and drinking. We enjoyed the singers and guitarists who were bringing out the best music and songs. Antique and handcraft shops, kinds of seafood, and cafes can be explored. Apart from the celebrating life of Varkala, a steep set of stairs leads to the beautiful Arabian sea which was covered and lined with almond trees. While this is the serene location where green vegetation and white/blue water meet, this relationship is disturbed by all the wastes thrown by the travelers. Shouldn’t be the responsibility of the travelers to take care of the gift given to us!

Cafe Experience

Darjeeling Cafe, Varkala Cliff

I sipped the lemon mint refresher while Boots had his crushed Pommogranete melon freshener and we watched the beautiful sunset happening behind the clouds. I was able to gather the bits and pieces of the happenings with the color change. Soon the clouds and the sea were merging, making it a difficult process to find where the sea ends and the sky starts. And soon they were united. All we can hear was the ocean sound!
